Introduce yourself...When and why did you join ChemSpec? What made you consider joining us?
My name is Manuel Cortes, I am Married (24yrs) with two kids’ girl (21yrs), boy (18yrs) and one dog (Bernie 2yrs). I am a Chemical engineer, love the outdoors, walks and watching sports and home-improving shows on TV. I joined Chemspec on August 8th, 2016, when we established the entity in Mexico as the Sales and Marketing Manager. It has been a challenge and a great opportunity to grow up as a professional.
What is something curious or funny we should know about you?
Due to the lockdown, I developed a hobby for home improvement, I have done many changes to the house but learned the hard way that plumbing is not my thing to do.
What is your favourite story from your time at ChemSpec?
Travelling with one of our suppliers we had the opportunity to visit a historical site, and at some point, he was touching one of the statues, I thought the police were going to catch us both, but nothing happened, and later he told me that the statue had the shape of his spirit animal and it is considered good luck to touch it, nobody ended up in jail so we were lucky
