Carbonwave and ChemSpec Ltd, a member of Safic-Alcan, enter into a new agreement for the US market West of the Mississsippi
CANTON, OH, March 26, 2024 – Carbonwave and ChemSpec Ltd, a member of Safic-Alcan, are entering into an agreement in the markets for the distribution of SeaBalance® 2000 and 2000 CH, a natural,multi-functional, upcycled O/W emulsifier to the cosmetic market. The territory scope of the contract is covering the United States, West of the Mississippi River.
SeaBalance® 2000, the world's first emulsifier upcycled from sargassum seaweed, uses a proprietary green chemistry process to create an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier that works within a wide range of emollients and applications in both hot & cold processes.
Certified by COSMOS without any animal origins, SeaBalance® 2000 has been clinically proven to deliver moisturization, and reinforcement of the skin barrier with a smooth and silky silicon-like feel. It also aligns with vegan, halal, and kosher standards.
This game changing emulsifier also minimizes the whitening effect and greasiness often associated with suncare products. Its impressive accolades include the Green Ingredient Award (gold) at Incosmetics Latin America 2023, The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit Brazil 2023 (gold), and the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award at In-cosmetics Korea 2022.
As the industry starts to utilize upcycled ingredients, it’s clear that there's a shift towards meeting consumer and environmental needs. SeaBalance® 2000 champions environmental stewardship by curbing methane emissions, restoring ecosystems, and supporting local workplace development in the Caribbean and Mexico.
Opting for SeaBalance® empowers formulators to make a real sustainability impact without compromising on performance.
Jacquelyn Ryan, Sales & Marketing Director for Cosmetics at ChemSpec, Ltd also expressed her thoughts on this partnership " When I find an opportunity to work with a solution driven company like Carbonwave, I can’t pass it up.
